Just like it would be inconceivable for most people to drive a car without insurance, or not insuring your house against accidents, in today's climate of uncertainty it seems imprudent to live without some type of long term 'escape plan' in case society as a while suffers some type of catastrophic event. Especially so if you live near a large city.

It could be anything: a disruption in the just in time delivery system, riots or even a pandemic threatening the world.

The ultra rich have already prepared for such contingencies by building lavish bunkers to ride it out safely. While this strategy does have some merits it doesn't seem practical for anything other than a few days. During the world wide covid lock down, the rich and powerful couldn't stop traveling and partying for longer than a few weeks, much less lock themselves away from society for years at a time.

Worse yet, if you study the literature on bunkers, most are not designed to cope with flooding and warn not to go into a bunker if there is any potential of it happening. With global warming on the horizon, this is not a pragmatic long term solution.

Regular people seem to be waking up to the inherent problems in our society. It's true we have built a society with the highest standard of living in all of human history, but it has come with a hidden cost which will eventually have to be paid. Global Warming, just in time supply chains, a global society ripe for an even worse pandemic and Corporate greed willing to poison our shared ground water for profit while the government takes bribes to look the other way are just a few of the problems we will eventually have to deal with. Unfortunately with so many 'balls in the air' at once, the probability of dropping just one becomes increasingly probable.
Those with a more right leaning point of view have seen the possibility of a global disruption for a while. Their strategy seems to focus on stockpiling large amounts of guns & ammo along with food. This is great for a short term solution, but long term, these people will eventually run out of food and realize they are sitting on a major stockpile of weapons.

The ultimate goal of SHTFi is to create a network of off grid communities designed to withstand any calamity that might befall it. From pandemics, resources shortages and climate change to total societal collapse, we have prepared for it.

We tend to be a little more left of center than other people in the preparedness community. Focusing on permaculture, food forests, sustainable food production and energy independence. It is of course incumbent on us to take into consideration the reality of any any situations where survival resources are limited, and people are desperate.

Every detail, from the location of the property itself, to it's general features and the training and equipment of our members is designed with security in mind.

To that end, we have situated our first location north of Toronto, and are offering people in the GTA and surrounding area the opportunity to ensure the safety and continuity of their families.

Each membership includes an off grid parcel of land fully planted as a food forest, a small garden, and a tiny house suitable for life in the north.
We handle everything to do with grounds maintenance and food security. You are welcome to come up and visit whenever you want, or leave all of the maintenance to us. Either way your small piece of paradise will be available and fully stocked when needed.
